Responsible Gaming
Version: 1.0 | Last Updated: June 15, 2025
At Onlywin, we believe that gambling should be an enjoyable and entertaining activity. However, we recognise that for some players, gambling can become problematic. This Responsible Gaming Policy sets out the tools, resources, and safeguards we provide to help players make informed decisions and maintain control over their gambling behaviour. This page should be read alongside our Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy.
1. Our Commitment
Onlywin is firmly committed to promoting responsible gambling and protecting the welfare of all our players. Our responsible gaming programme is grounded in the following core principles:
- Player Safety First: The wellbeing of our players takes precedence over commercial interests;
- Prevention & Intervention: We actively implement tools to help players set limits, take breaks, and self-exclude where necessary;
- Transparency: We provide clear and accurate information about the risks associated with gambling;
- No Underage Gambling: We enforce strict age and identity verification procedures to prevent access by minors;
- Support & Referral: We maintain active partnerships with and provide referrals to accredited support organisations across Canada.
We continuously review and improve our responsible gaming measures. If you have suggestions or concerns, please contact us at [email protected].
2. Recognizing Problem Gambling
Problem gambling is a condition that can affect anyone, regardless of age, background, or income level. It is characterised by a persistent and recurrent urge to gamble, even when it causes harm to the individual, their family, or finances. The following checklist may help you identify whether your gambling behaviour has become problematic. You may be experiencing a gambling problem if:
- You spend more money or time gambling than you originally intended;
- You feel restless, irritable, or anxious when you try to reduce or stop gambling;
- You have made repeated unsuccessful attempts to control, cut back, or stop gambling;
- You gamble as a way to escape personal problems, relieve stress, anxiety, or depression;
- After losing money, you feel a compulsion to return and try to win it back (“chasing losses”);
- You have lied to family members, friends, or others about the extent of your gambling or your financial losses;
- Gambling has caused or contributed to significant financial difficulties, including borrowing money, selling possessions, or taking loans to fund gambling;
- Your gambling has negatively impacted important relationships, your employment, educational opportunities, or career;
- You experience intrusive thoughts about gambling, reliving past wins or planning future bets, even while doing other things;
- You have committed or considered committing illegal acts, such as fraud or theft, to finance gambling.
If you recognise two or more of the above signs in your own behaviour, we strongly encourage you to use our player protection tools and seek professional support. You are not alone, and help is available.
3. Player Protection Tools
We provide the following responsible gaming tools, accessible from your Account settings or by contacting our support team at [email protected]:
3.1. Deposit Limits
You can set daily, weekly, or monthly deposit limits on your Account. Once a limit is set, it takes effect immediately. Requests to increase a deposit limit are subject to a mandatory twenty-four (24) hour cooling-off period before taking effect. Requests to reduce a deposit limit take effect immediately.
3.2. Loss Limits
You can set a maximum net loss threshold over a defined period (daily, weekly, or monthly). Once your net losses reach the specified threshold, further real-money play will be suspended for the remainder of the period.
3.3. Session Time Limits
You can set a maximum session duration. Once the time limit is reached, you will receive an on-screen notification and may be logged out automatically. This tool helps maintain awareness of time spent playing.
3.4. Wager Limits
You can restrict the maximum amount staked per bet or spin during any session, providing an additional layer of spending control.
3.5. Reality Checks
You can activate periodic on-screen reminders during play that display the total time elapsed in your session and your net financial position. These reminders encourage mindful decision-making during gaming sessions.
3.6. Cooling-Off Period
If you wish to take a temporary break from gambling, you can request a cooling-off period of 24 hours, 72 hours, 7 days, or 30 days. During a cooling-off period, you will not be able to log in to your Account or place any bets. The cooling-off period cannot be shortened once activated, but it will expire automatically at the end of the chosen duration.
3.7. Self-Exclusion
If you feel you need a more extended break, you can request self-exclusion for a minimum period of six (6) months, up to five (5) years, or on a permanent basis. To request self-exclusion:
- Log in to your Account and navigate to the Responsible Gaming section; or
- Send an email to [email protected] with the subject line “Self-Exclusion Request,” including your full name and Account username.
Self-exclusion is activated within twenty-four (24) hours of your request. During the self-exclusion period:
- Your Account will be suspended and you will not be able to log in;
- All marketing communications will be suspended;
- Any Bonus Funds in your Account will be forfeited;
- Real-money Balance remaining in your Account above the minimum withdrawal threshold will be refunded to your designated payment method.
Permanent self-exclusion cannot be reversed. Time-limited self-exclusion can be extended at any time but may not be shortened. At the end of a time-limited self-exclusion, the Account will remain suspended until you contact us and undergo a reactivation review, which includes a mandatory cooling-off reflection period.
3.8. Account Closure
You may request permanent Account closure at any time. This is distinct from self-exclusion and is a final decision. Please contact [email protected] to initiate Account closure.
4. Tips for Responsible Gambling
The following guidelines can help you enjoy gambling as a safe and entertaining pastime:
- Set a budget before you play and stick to it. Only gamble with money you can afford to lose;
- Treat gambling as entertainment, not as a means of making money or solving financial problems;
- Never chase your losses. Accepting a loss is part of gambling; attempting to win it back often leads to greater losses;
- Take regular breaks. Use session time limit tools to remind yourself to step away and refresh;
- Balance gambling with other activities. Maintain a healthy range of hobbies and social activities outside of gambling;
- Do not gamble under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or when you are feeling emotional, stressed, or depressed;
- Keep track of time and money spent. Review your transaction history regularly in your Account;
- Talk to someone you trust if you feel gambling is becoming a concern. Family and friends can offer valuable perspective and support.
5. Protection of Minors
Access to our Website and all real-money gambling services is strictly restricted to individuals of legal gambling age (18 or 19 years, depending on province of residence). We take the following steps to prevent underage gambling:
- Mandatory age declaration during the registration process;
- KYC age verification before any withdrawal is processed, or at any time we have reason to believe a player may be underage;
- Immediate Account suspension if we have reasonable grounds to suspect a registered player is under the minimum legal age;
- Clear responsible gaming messaging displayed throughout the Website.
We encourage parents and guardians to use parental control and internet filtering software to prevent minors from accessing gambling websites. We recommend the following tools:
- GamBan – gamban.com – Blocks access to thousands of gambling websites across all devices;
- Net Nanny – netnanny.com – Parental control software with category-based website filtering;
- Bark – bark.us – Monitors online activity and alerts parents to potential concerns.
If you suspect that a minor has accessed or is attempting to access our Website, please notify us immediately at [email protected].
